What do you love about Indiana?
One of the many qualities that I think stand out when it comes to the state of Indiana is the shared sense of community values. Wherever you go, people value things like family, education, hard work, and excellence. It’s something that I love about Hoosier culture and is something that makes the state what it is.

What’s a change you’d like to see in your community/our state?
I would like to see changes in community involvement among younger generations. In recent years, people have lost the sense of community, resulting in global rates of loneliness, depression, etc. I would love to be a part of the change for a stronger push of volunteering, community projects, and community building to hopefully counteract these negative societal trends.

What’s one way you’ve been able to give back to your community?
One way I’ve been able to give back to my community is through volunteer clubs, leadership, and tutoring. Through these three ways, I’ve helped initiate community events, programs, and ways for students to express themselves through publications and student government. Tutoring has been the greatest way that I have been able to give back to my community. I love being able to help others understand topics that are required for furthering their understanding of subjects ranging from elementary math and beginning level Arabic to AP Calculus and high school level biology.

What has been your favorite LSN experience?
By far, my favorite LSN experience has been the Scholar Link. Through this program, I have been able to meet and get to know Judge Kelsey Hanlon and gain valuable insight that she has in the legal field. By doing this, I have a better understanding of how life in the legal field looks like post graduation and a better understanding of the Indiana Judicial system.
