“Many women don’t have the privilege of access to necessary feminine products and comforts, otherwise known as period poverty.”

Sydney Schloemer, 2022 Morgan County Lilly Scholar
With the funds from the Lead Forward Community Grant, Schloemer will be partnering with DePauw University’s Women’s Center to create an on-campus event in the fall where students, staff, and community members can not only engage with educational materials about period poverty and femininity but also can donate hygiene products and gently used bras. These items will be donated to women’s shelters and those in need in Putnam County.
