Do you lean into Myers Briggs, Enneagram or another leadership/personality test?
I heavily lean into the Myers-Briggs test as it demonstrates a cohesive approach to understanding your personality, wants, desires, relationships, and ambitions. I am a split between ENTJ and INTJ which means I’m a blend of strategic leadership and analytical insight, capable of both taking charge and diving deep into complex problems. I thrive on planning and organizing to achieve goals, while also valuing introspection and deep thinking to understand the world around me.
Did you set a New Year’s resolution or intention?
I always set a resolution to learn a new skill and new hobby every year. This year I want to learn pickleball, golf, and piano while furthering my academic studies.
What did the scholarship allow you to do that you otherwise wouldn’t have done?
This scholarship has opened many closed doors when it comes to social and academic perspectives. I currently attend Butler University in Indianapolis, which provides exceptional education and furthers my resources for networking and experiential learning in the community.
What makes you proud to be a Hoosier?
No one knows what a Hoosier is but everyone wears it as a badge of honor. Under that badge comes a sense of neighborly love and community that you do not find anywhere else.
What’s a change you’d like to see in your community/our state?
The only thing I can think of is to improve our roads. Indiana is notorious for potholes and damage to vehicles. Right before college the rim on my wheel bent, and I had to replace it.
Share an example of a time you stepped out of your comfort zone or did something that surprised you.
I had the opportunity to travel to Wall Street in New York. This adventure was out of my comfort zone to be in the big city; however, I enjoyed my experience.
What’s the last novel you read?
I am a Finance and Applied Business Technology double major. Therefore, I mostly read nonfiction material. The latest book I am reading is The Intelligent Investor which is the foremost book on value investing.
What’s one way you’ve been able to give back to your community?
I want to be able to help and educate future generations of students on the college process. It is a difficult and confusing journey for some, and I can bridge that knowledge gap.
