“Our academy class has connected so organically, learned from leaders around the entire state, and created a network of other scholars that will last a lifetime.”

What did the scholarship allow you to do that you otherwise wouldn’t have done?

Even as a first-generation college student, I knew I would be moving to Indianapolis for school “somehow”. The “somehow” was not sorted out though and could have turned into a huge obstacle without the Lilly scholarship. While I still worked my way through school for living expenses, the scholarship gave me the financial security I needed to focus and pursue my future career.

What are you most proud of?

My kids. My “always analyzing” 10 year old, “always moving” 7 year old, and “always in charge” 2 year old make me the most proud every day.

What’s a change you’d like to see in your community/our state?

I would like to see a greater prioritization of quality public education in our state, where we invest in a high standard for all Hoosier students.

What’s the last novel you read?

Yesteryear- was not quite what I expected, but would recommend!

What has been your favorite LSN experience?

My favorite LSN experience, by far, has been the LSN Academy. I was nervous to submit my application and even more antsy before the first session- first day of school jitter vibes!
